SYDNEY, Australia, 25 November 2016 – Vitex Pharmaceuticals CEO Dr Aniss Chami has been recognised among Australia’s finest business leaders and professionals having been named a finalist in The CEO Magazine 2016 Executive of the Year Awards. The prestigious awards set out to acknowledge the efforts of business leaders both new and veteran, and reward those who made notable difference in the corporate world during the 2015/2016 Financial Year.
As a finalist in the Health and Pharmaceutical Executive of the Year category, Dr Chami was recognised for his innovative quality systems underscored by an entrepreneurial spirit. Under his leadership, Vitex Pharmaceuticals has expanded from a 5,000sqm site to 26,000sqm state-of-the-art manufacturing facility – the biggest transition in the company’s and the industry’s history to date.
“As CEO of one of the very few Australian owned and operated pharmaceutical manufacturing companies, I’m incredibly honoured to be recognised in these Awards. With over 15 years of experience in the industry, Dr Chami graduated from Macquarie University completing his Bachelor of Medical Science with Honours (B Med Sci) (Hon). He went on to complete his Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) at the University of Sydney, before completing his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the Sydney School of Medicine (University of Notre Dame). Dr Chami also holds a Master’s Degree in Financial Management (MFM) and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) at the prestigious world-ranking Macquarie Graduate School of Management.
